Introduced in 2000 the Strutter changed everything with a unique design that combined protection with the defining form of a baseball cap, since then the design has become a firm favourite worn the world over by thousands of paddlers. Although the Strutter retains its now iconic design, Sweet have introduced a number of improvements over the years giving the Strutter impressive performance and comfort for freestyle and whitewater paddlers.
The shell features Long Fiber Thermoplastic (LFT) that is super tough, with additional an Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CRP) layer that wraps around the front of the helmet. These two technologies working together create a shell that both has elasticity and is rigid optimised to give excellent protection in a low profile format. In practise what this means is the helmet actually has more flex from side-to-side that previous versions as this is where you tend to get more glancing blows which are protected far better by a helmet that moves with your head.Under the shell Sweet use a low volumes EVA shock absorbing liner which is a closed cell foam with good low temperature toughness and resistance to stress cracks.
To improve fit one of the best changes is the introduction of the specially engineered version of the OCCIGRIP tensioning system which is fixed via two Polyamide legs to the shell of the helmet in a neat low profile mechanism that enables precise custom fitting to your that back of your head.
