Heat Shrink + Grip For One Paddle
The Grip (also known as Index grip) is fitted (either glued or taped) to the paddle shaft to create a point of reference for where your blades are facing and then covered by Heat shrink. The heat shrink is simple to install and fits most kayak paddle shafts. Just slide it over the shaft and apply heat; it shrinks to create a comfortable, secure grip. Please note that for one-piece kayak paddles and canoe paddles, the blade or T-grip may need to be removed for installation.
Note: the second image above shows the grip in place on the shaft just prior to the heat shrink being slid over it and then heated to conform to the grip/paddle shaft.
