Our favourite stories from the Paddlesport show 2026

Another show is in the books and as usual our channels have been flooded with clips from Strasbourg all week.

We’ve chosen our favourite stories from the show to share – do you agree?  What did we miss? Let us know!  If you're looking for the Pyranha Inazone news check out blog here

Palm introduce Seawastex® yarns into their apparel line up for 2026

The comprehensively refreshed Palm dry wear range will now feature 100% recycled nylon in the face fabrics of the 2, 2.5 and 4-layer fabrics.  Sourced from discarded fishing nets, the recycled nylon supports coastal livelihoods, reduces carbon emissions and saves energy compared to virgin nylon production – all without sacrificing performance. Along side this the range will be made without intentionally added PFAS.

We won’t see these for a little while yet with the new kit expected in the second half of 2026 - but that gives you time to work out those new colour combos!

Bending Branches Horizon Paddle

A fibreglass expedition paddle from the team at Branches that looks good and should deliver performance and durability with the unique Lamlok edge protection technology making its debut in the Canoe Paddle range.

Specifically designed for expedition use or grade 1 or 2. Fingers crossed the Horizon will make it across from the US before Christmas.

Spade Kayaks Slick

Hands up who loves Spade Kayaks?  Quietly over the last 4 or so years, fuelled by a blend of experience and youthful joy for paddling the Spade range has grown into a comprehensive modern offering for whitewater paddlers.  Options like the Joker, Bliss, Starfire, Queen of Hearts, Full House and now the Slick tick the boxes of what’s currently in demand while fundamentally delivering boats that are fun and just work, without loads of faff.

The Slick has been described as a love child of the Barracuda and the Full House The Slick is agile, playful and might just be the perfect river running weapon.  Our demo should be here in the next month or so!

Introducing the HF Weasel Pro Throwline

The all-time classic Weasel 18m Throwline is loved for its size, ease of use and simplicity and now HF are offering the Pro version… it packs a 15 meter 9.5mm rope making it stronger and more comfortable.  In a bright orange the Weasel Pro is due soon!

Joel from Paddle People was also showing off another bRAND new product this time from the HF Spraydeck range.....you might not have seen this in the coverage but its one to keep you're eyes out for...especially if you're keen on 'Big Drops' 😉

Palm Kaikoura gets a face lift

The Kaikoura has been a best seller for the last 15 years? Maybe more! Other designs come and go but there is something about that Flexfit shape that’s kept it at the forefront of Palm PFD range over several facelifts.  We’re not expecting the 2026 refresh to change that winning formula, but the updates look pretty cool with new styling and a change to clamshell pockets to make access easier plus with a handy note taking panel, Palm have brought it bang up to date. ETA June 2026

Peak’s Wrap PFD Range

We’ve had load of people asking for updates on the Wraptor range of PFD’s first shown in 2024 – but difficulties navigating the ISO process means its only now that all the boxes have been ticked an we can confidently expect to see them in early 2026.  A departure from the ‘Olympic Cut’ Peak have been using for the last decade the range looks to tick a number of boxes – new, a little different and available in loads of sizes.  It will be interesting to try these out and see what reaction they get!

Wave Sport Trifuse

The Hydra 145 and 145 LV get a 3 layer ‘Trifuse’ option for a lighter better performing hull.  It’s the first time we’ve seen a 3-layer polyethylene boat from the team at Wave sport and it pushes the Hydra into direct competition with the P&H Virgo CLX especially with its £1499 price point.
