The Venture Jura is an ideal kayak for paddlers looking to get out on coastal waters or short multi day trips for the first time. As we have come to expect from Venture, the Jura has been carefully designed to not only be a stable and forgiving boat but allow paddlers to benifit from high performance hull characteristics that will allow you to develop your skills and enjoy the boat for a long time.

At 16 foot the Jura has a long waterline and a good cruising speed while the slight V in the hull will help the boat track nicely.  Towards the centre of the boat the V shape is less pronouced and this flatter mid section along with a moderate rocker helps give the Jura some manoevrability.  The rocker along with a full volume bow also helps lift the boat offer any waves and swell delivering a drier ride.

The Jura is well sized for handling any kit you need for those short expeditions with 3 kajaksport hatchs in the deck along elasticated shockcord in front the cockpit for additional storage as well as deck lines.

The Jura comes as standard with the unique Venture Skudder system, a clever but robust design that can work as a skeg for control in wind or waves or as an under stern rudder that works efficiently even in rougher conditions.  The 'skudder' can be deployed partly or fully with the control located just to side and front of the cockpit with the rudder controled via the adjustable footpegs linked to a simple mechanism that is hidden away on the back deck but easily accessible for cleaning and maintance.
