Here at whitewater we understand that some people neither have the space nor money to have their own kayak or canoe and for this reason we hire a range of boats from our waterside location in Shepperton marina. From the shop you can paddle onto the river and enjoy the peace and tranquility that you can only find on a river, Desborough Island is only a short paddle up stream from the shop and makes a fantastic circular journey in the summer months, this trip can also easily incorporate two pubs and a coffee shop so you shouldn’t go hungry or thirsty! If you’re looking to go further, then trips up stream to Chertsey or down stream to Hampton court are all possible in a day.
The River Thames flows for some 130 odd miles across England and if you would like to experience more of the river (and it is very lovely) we are more than happy to let you take our boats away for extended periods of time. Please give us a call on our normal number 01932 247 978 to discuss this and the price. Please note however if you do hire a boat over a weekend we are closed Sundays, so you will need to return your boat and equipment early on Monday.

What we supply:
The hire prices below are per boat & include buoyancy aids, paddles, splash top & river license. If you are kayaking we can also provide a spray deck, although we may ask you to demonstrate a capsize drill to prove competency.

Kayak Hire : Half Day (4 hours) £25.00 per boat / Full Day (8 hours) £35.00 per boat
We also have a number of composite and plastic Sea kayaks from Valley, P&H and Lettmann. These kayaks can be hired out at a cost of £50 a day, or for a weekend hire-pick up Friday evening, return Monday morning £90.00. These boats are not as stabel as some of our other canoes or kayaks but are considerably faster. We can also hire kit on it own if required, for this please call for a quote.
Our water side location in Shepperton marina is an ideal spot to learn Canoeing or Kayaking or is a perfect starting place for a days fun on the Thames.
Please Note: Equipment hire can be refused to anyone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. It is not advisable to use any of the above during the duration of the hire. Whitewater The Canoe Centre will not be liable for any death, personal injury, or loss damage to good arising out of the hire of items by them. We advise hires, if they feel it necessary to obtain their own insurance for accidents on board. You are responsible for the Kayak/Canoe and equipment throughout the hire duration. We also reserve the right to stop cancel a hire if water conditions are deamed unsafe.
